Challenge

The publisher needed to sell directly to readers without depending solely on bookshops. It lacked an e-commerce platform that would cover the catalogue, orders, customer management, and that was simple to maintain without an in-house tech team.

Solution

We built the online bookstore from scratch in Laravel, created the reader area and the management back-office. The solution covers catalogue, checkout, payments (MB Way, Multibanco, card) and customer area. Continuous support for over 8 years, with regular evolutions as the business grows.

Outcome

Platform live for 8+ years, handles the Christmas-season peak volume without incidents, and lets the publisher focus on what it does best — book curation and sales — without worrying about technical infrastructure.
